Here is a review of the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters annual business session, held Saturday, April 24, 2010, at the Headliners Club in Austin. With:

A. CONTEST REVIEW:
-- No comments.

B. PROPOSED CONTEST CHANGES:
-- 1. MOTION PASSED. Re-wording of rules: "TAPB retains the right to keep all entries and fees and disqualify those that do not adhere to the
rules as outlined, including those that do not meet the postmarked deadline. Entrants will not be notified of disqualifications and fees
will not be refunded."
-- 2. MOTION PASSED. Clarify in TAPB scholarship advisory that: "The applicant currently must be enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate
student at a school - in Texas-- that receives AP services, or the student must be an intern at an AP member station in Texas." Adds
graduate students allowed to apply.
-- 3. MOTION PASSED. Clarify that freelancers at AP-member stations cannot enter on their own, even if their work was broadcast on AP-member stations in Texas. Their work can only be included as part of a station's complete entry.
-- 4. DIGITAL TV issues.

C. SITE FOR 2011 CONVENTION?
-- Board recommends holding the 2011 TAPB convention/awards banquet on April 16, 2011, in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Diana will check on
possible cites, including the Hilton DFW Lakes in Grapevine, where 2008 convention was held. Hotel complex is near Dallas-Fort Worth
International Airport.

E. OTHER BUSINESS:
-- TAPB balance/annual financial statement. $35,703.61. Does not include pending bills from Trophies Inc. or Headliners Club for April 24
activities. Includes some registration fees paid for convention.
-- BILLS TO PAY: APPROVED total payment of $1,343.93 to AP's Diana Heidgerd, for reimbursement for convention costs. Includes $250 in gift cards for banquet door prizes, $665.93 to Grubbs Graphics (2nd place awards) and $428 she paid to FedEx Office, for 225 banquet programs & 22 mailing envelopes. Receipts included.
-- SAVE THE DATE: Diana says Texas Association of Broadcasters has firmed up date for fall Southwest Broadcast Workshop as Saturday, Oct. 16, at the University of Texas at Austin. TAPB co-sponsors the event.
