Promoting your TAPB awards

Each year the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters (“TAPB”) recognizes excellence and achievement in journalism with awards in various categories.

Your promotion must state the “Texas Associated Press Broadcasters” (NOT Associated Press) as the award’s source.

— Promotional use of the word “Best” will apply only to first-place winners.

Any use of a reference to a TAPB award that in any way misleads the public about a TAPB award, including but not limited to distorted or exaggerated claims, is strictly prohibited.

Violations of either the spirit or intent of this prohibition may result in the disqualification of the offending entity from TAPB contests for a one-year period.

TAPB board reserves all rights to determine the truthfulness of any promotion that uses a reference to TAPB awards. The TAPB will be the sole determiner of whether or not a violation has occurred.

TAPB Balance $18,803.82. 2. TAPB Bills to be paid: (NOTE: Board via email on Dec. 6 approved payment of these bills) Webmaster Noble Sprayberry, $50 for month of December Level 3 Conference Call: $17.27 for the November TAPB call AP’s Diana Heidgerd, $44 for annual website fee: Total Choice Hosting (Diana has receipt) Betterbnc.com, annual payment for next year’s TAPB contest: $781 (compared to $678 last year). Betterbnc.com needs the check ASAP in order to get the contest website up/running by Jan. 1. 3. APB contest contract/proposal with Cyndy Moore, who last year assisted with entries/registration, etc: This from AP’s Barry Bedlan: Cyndy has agreed to assist with the contest and awards dinner this year. She has agreed to an hourly rate of $20, down from $25 last year, to bring her agreement more in line with other contest coordinator contracts across AP. Her new agreement also will clearly state that four emails = one hour of work; six phone calls = one hour; 50 entry confirmations = one hour. (This wasn’t all clarified in the 2013 agreement.)
