Here are winners in the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters 2008-2009 radio contest. Judging was done Feb. 21-22 at a Dallas-area hotel by journalists who work in markets outside of Texas.

Awards were presented Saturday night, April 25, during the 2009 TAPB convention at the Headliners Club in Austin.

2008-2009 TEXAS AP BROADCASTERS/FREEDOM OF INFORMATION FOUNDATION OF TEXAS AWARD

This award is given in memory of longtime Texas journalist Carole Kneeland. Kneeland died in 1998 after a lengthy battle with cancer. At the time of her death she was vice president/news at KVUE-TV in Austin.

The TAPB and the Freedom of Information Foundation of Texas will again honor outstanding efforts by a radio or television station on FOI issues.
There is no entry fee. One entry per station, please.
The winner will be announced Saturday, April 25, during the TAPB convention awards banquet at the Headliners Club in Austin.
