2008 SOUTHWEST BROADCAST NEWSROOM WORKSHOP
Saturday, October 4, University of Texas in Austin
The Texas Association of Broadcasters, the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters and the Radio-Television News Directors Foundation are co-sponsoring another Southwest Broadcast Newsroom Workshop.
This year’s daylong event will be Saturday, October 4, at the University of Texas in Austin.
Cost:
— $20 per student or educator
— $50 per professional journalist
Registration fee includes box lunch!

2007-2008 Scholarship Winners
The Texas Associated Press Broadcasters Association is awarding $9,000 in scholarships. Three students pursuing careers in broadcast journalism will each receive a $3,000 scholarship.
2007-2008 Contest Judging Critiques
Judging critiques of the winning entries are now available from the
Texas AP Broadcasters radio-TV competition.
Some judges had extensive comments. Others only selected the winners.

FOI Award
The TAPB and the Freedom of Information Foundation of Texas will again honor outstanding efforts by a radio or television station on FOI issues through the 2007-2008 Texas AP Broadcasters/Freedom of Information Foundation of Texas Award.
2007-2008 TAPB Judges at Work
The contest was judged March 7-9 in Dallas by 17 broadcast professionals
from across the country. All six TAPB board members — Rick Hadley, Jeff
Koch, Steven Pickering, Emily Donahue, Joe Terrell and Benji Snead –
attended judging weekend, along with Dallas AP’s Diana Heidgerd.
